Payment: Fees are due on the 1st day of each month from September to May. A late fee of $25 will be added if tuition is not paid in full by the 10th of each month. Please make checks out to: Angela Hoopes
*Holidays, vacations, or illness do not constitute a refund.
Toilet Training: Your child must be potty trained to enroll in this preschool.
Drop off & Pick up
Drop off: Please escort your child to the front door. The door will be open when class begins. You can help your child check-in. Then they can look at books in the library until class starts.
*Please no early arrivals. I need this time to prepare!
Pick up: Pick up will be promptly when class is scheduled to end. Children will either be outside (weather permitting) or I will have them ready at the front door.
*When you bring or pick up your child, please be sure to get my attention so I am aware that your child is coming or leaving.
*Late Fee: Please be sure to pick up your child as soon as class is scheduled to end. If you are late, I will attempt to call you at any numbers listed on on your emergency card. Late fees begin at 11:30am. From 11:30-11:45 the fee is $5 then $1 per minute starting at 11:46 and after. If there is an Emergency, call 503-320-1783.
Transportation: Transportation is to be provided by the child's parents/legal guardian. Written consent must be given for Little Learners Preschool to allow a child to leave with anyone else.
Outside food or candy: Please have your child finish any food or candy before entering the preschool. A snack will be provided each day. I will provide the snack, but will have sign ups for anyone that wants to bring a snack or a special treat for Birthdays or other special occasions.
Toys: Please have your child leave all toys at home. Toys from home can cause unnecessary problems at school.
Dress: We want the children to be involved and some activities are messy. We will use paint, glue, play dough, markers, etc... Smocks will be provided and we try to take care of clothing, but accidents do happen and we would not like best clothes ruined. For this reason, please send your child in play clothes. We will try to go outside every day, so please dress your child appropriately for the weather and has all outer wear needed to keep them safe and comfortable. If the weather is extreme, an alternative activity will be implemented.
*Please be sure your child always has a complete and labeled extra change of clothes that can stay here!
Labels: Please put your child's name on EVERYTHING you bring to school: clothes, coats, hats, gloves, boots, etc...
Communication: Effective communication between parents and teachers is essential for a really good experience at Little Learners Preschool. If you have questions or concerns, please talk to me.
Volunteers: Little Learners Preschool has an open-door policy and parents are welcome at any time.
*Be aware that your child might go through some separation anxiety. This is completely normal and usually only lasts a few minutes after you leave. If your child is having a hard time with you leaving, it may be better for you not to come and visit or volunteer, until the issue is resolved.
Allergies: If your child has an allergy, please contact me personally. You are required to put this information on the emergency card, but as a teacher, I want to be aware of allergies before I get time to read the emergency card.
Sick Children: I am unable to care for sick children. If your child is sick, please keep him/her home. If your child becomes sick during class, I will make every effort to contact you or the persons listed on your emergency cards. The following are guidelines for excluding children from the preschool and reasons you should keep a child home:
1. A temperature of 99.6 or above.
2. Vomiting, diarrhea, nausea or sever abdominal pain.
3. Unusual lethargic behavior.
4. Mouth sores associated with an ability to control saliva.
5. Rash with fever or behavior change.
6. Infected eyes with discharge.
7. Infestation (ex: scabies, head lice, pinworm)
8. Impetigo
9. Strep throat
10. Ringworm
11. Chicken pox, Whooping cough, Red measles, Mumps, Meningitis, Influenza, and other communicable diseases.
*The best advice is to use common sense. Parents generally know the symptoms their own child exhibits when sick or when their child's behavior is unusual.
*A child should be free of symptoms or be on medication for 24 hours before returning to school. I cannot give out medications.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOUR CHILD HAS A COMMUNICABLE DISEASE OR INFESTATION SO I CAN NOTIFY THE OTHER PARENTS!
*Holidays, vacations, or illness do not constitute a refund.
